Chapter 7 in our textbook references Megalopolis, which is about the northeastern United States. It consists of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington. It is a conglomerate of metropolitan cities. The text book tells us it is the most densely settled region of North America.
In California there are two Megalopolis's, one in southern California and one in Northern California. California's economy is the largest economy in the United States. The Northern megalopolis is near Yosemite and consists of San Francisco, greater Sacramento, and metropolitan Fresno. It also consists of Silicon Valley, which is home to major corporations in the U.S. The location of this major metropolitan area near Yosemite gives many people easy access to America's treasure, Yosemite Valley.
